Information on the group insurance policy for domestic and international passengers of MÁV-START Zrt concluded between Allianz Hungária Insurance company Zrt. (hereinafter: insurer) and MÁV-START Zrt. (client)
Fill in and send the following form to Allianz Hungária Insurance company Zrt. Életbiztosítási Szakkezelési Szekció (1387 Budapest, Pf. 11). The insurance company provides information on the details of handling cases in its call centre at 06 (40) 421 421. The aggrieved passenger shall report the insurance event to the insurance company within 15 days after the event.
The form is taken and filled in by an employee of MÁV ZRt., or MÁV-START Zrt. based on a verbal report. The exceptions are trains without a conductor, where – under time pressure – the passenger can also be asked to do this. The form shall always be filled in ink, legibly and in block capitals.
In Hungary the scope of the insurance extends to the commercial passenger trains operated by MÁV-START Zrt. on the commercial railway lines managed by MÁV ZRt., and the passenger traffic area of MÁV ZRt. The indemnity period of the insurance company begins at the beginning of the journey and lasts until the end of the journey. From the perspective of insurance the earliest beginning of the journey is when the passenger or his escort enters the passenger traffic area of MÁV Zrt. to start a journey or to purchase a ticket, and the end is when the passenger or escort leaves the given area.
The insured party in the policy is the person who stays in the passenger traffic area of MÁV Zrt. to start a journey, or is travelling on commercial passenger trains operated by MÁV-START Zrt. on the commercial railway lines managed by MÁV ZRt., and pays the fare charged by the railway company, holds a ticket, or is eligible for a free journey because of any other concession, and is on the passenger traffic area or vehicle of the railway company to make a journey. The present policy also insures the person (escort) who – to escort or receive the passenger - stays in the passenger traffic area of MÁV Zrt, or gets into the railway car to help the passenger with his luggage on commercial passenger trains operated by MÁV-START Zrt. on the commercial railway lines managed by MÁV ZRt. The intention to provide escort or receive a passenger begins on entering the passenger traffic area of the railway company, and lasts until this area is left.
To be able to make use of the services of the insurance company all documents required to prove and assess the claim shall be made available for the insurance company. The information requested by the insurance company shall be given, and it should be made possible to check the content of the report and the information. The insurance company is not liable if the client or the insured party fails to comply with this obligation, and as a result important circumstances cannot be identified.
